Elevate your family vacations with a new RV from Leo’s Vacation Center and start making memories with your family that will last a lifetime. If you’re just getting into RVing, check out the RV travel tips that will help you get out to the campground with your crew. All of these RV tips are from a full-time RVing family.
Plan Your Stops
Anyone traveling with an RV in tow the first time needs to take it slow! We recommend planning out all your stops ahead of time so that you know where you’re going to pull off for lunch, bathroom breaks, and overnight. This helps to take the stress out of some of the travel.
Book Ahead of Time
No matter where you are going, it’s vital to book ahead of time, especially in today’s camping environment. With so many more people taking to the campgrounds for their vacations, booking with your campground ahead of time is the only way to guarantee you get in at the campground you want to visit.
Don’t Drive for Too Long in a Day
A good rule of thumb for first-timers is to follow the 4, 4, 4 rule. To follow this rule is very easy, especially if you’ve planned ahead, just drive no more than four hours, 400 miles, or stop for the night before 4 PM.
