If you’ve always dreamed of heading south for the winter, there’s no better time to make that dream a reality. Below, we will share our favorite RV tips for snowbirds to make camping this winter a perfect way to recharge and refresh for the new year.
Find a Perfect Destination
The first thing you want to do is research your camping destinations to find a perfect place for your stay. Determine whether or not you want to head to the beach or spend your time off visiting one of your bucket list destinations.
Wait Until After the Holidays to Travel
The best advice I can give you when traveling in the winter is to wait until after the holidays. We don’t want to get caught in holiday traffic when you’re trying to get to your destinations, so just give it a few extra days around Christmas and New Year’s or any other winter holidays and plan to arrive once the traffic has died down.
Book Ahead of Time for Lower Rates
Whenever you travel, be sure to call ahead of time to book your stay at your campground. Booking your stay hood can help to unlock off-season rates and other discounts from the campground, so be sure to ask about any specials they might be running during your stay.
Be Sure to Pack Smart
Take some time to pack your bags and your RV with all the essentials you’ll need during your stay. Even if you’re traveling south for the colder months, you’ll want to have some warmer clothes packed in case the weather gets chilly for a few days during your stay.
