Choosing The Right Motorhome

RVing has come a long way since it first began in the late nineteenth, early twentieth century. Now more than ever you have a ton of options available to you. From travel trailers to fifth wheels to toy haulers to motorhomes, the options are endless. In today’s blog post we’re talking about how to choose the best motorhome for you. Motorhomes offer convenience that towable RVs don’t. They’re capable of being driven to your destination, which means you don’t have to worry about hitching up before you head out. Simply load your RV and hit the road.

Type

Motorhomes are available in class A, B, and C layouts. The class A motorhome is what you typically think of when you consider a motorhome: they look like a large bus (except more stylish). Class B and C motorhomes are built on a van chassis. The class C features an overhead cab that provides an additional sleeping area or extended living space.

Gas or Diesel

Class A, B, and C motorhomes are all available in gas or diesel engines. Diesel engines are typically more expensive, however, they’re incredibly fuel efficient and provide more power. They’re a great choice for those who plan to take lots of long-term trips across a wide variety of terrains. Gas motorhomes are cheaper to fill up, but they don’t usually provide the power needed to easily climb steep or large hills or to tow an additional vehicle behind you.

Layout

Class A motorhomes tend to offer larger bathrooms, bedrooms, and living areas, while class B and C motorhomes offer these amenities, but on a smaller scale. If you’re looking for a motorhome that provides space like a vacation rental, you’ll want a class A, but if you plan to spend less timein your RV, a class B or C should work for you.
